Standing up for Caistor St Edmunds, Bixley,Poringland, Stoke Holy Cross, Trowse With Newton, Framingham Pigot, Bramerton, Surlingham, Kirby Bedon, Framingham Earl, Alpington ,Yelverton Graham's BiographyGraham Hemming was born in Great Yarmouth, is a Chartered Surveyor and has lived in Norfolk for much of this life. His career was as a Property Valuer in Government Service. He has his first experience as a councillor when elected to South Norfolk Council. Two years later he was elected to the Norfolk County Council as representative for the Henstead Division. He has served on a wide variety of Council Committees and Panels. His particular interests are Planning and Transportation, the Environment and Cultural Services. In 1997/9 he was Vice Chairman and subsequently Chairman of the Norfolk County Council. His other interested include the theatre, music, travel and gardening. He is a Trustee of the Norwich Theatre Royal. Graham Hemming believes the most important economic needs for Norfolk are the Norwich Northern Relief road together with the full dueling of the A12 and the A47 from Great Yarmouth to Peterborough. Together with the new Outer Harbour at Great Yarmouth, these are the essential requirements to ensure the future prosperity of the County. Locally, he opposes the extension of Regional Government as planning and housing decisions made elsewhere will undermine local democracy and accountability. He supports the limitation of development which has provided an unofficial “green belt” between Norwich and the villages surrounding Poringland. There is a danger that these villages could become virtual suburbs of the City through urban sprawl into the green area. Graham Hemming is committed to opposing any such developments Contact GrahamGraham Hemming 'Wrenwood' 27 High Green
