About Martin Martin has lived in Wymondharn for 31 years with his wife Carol. He was a senior police officer in the Norfolk Constabulary. He subsequently worked for three years for the NSPCC and then at a local high school assisting children with disabilities. Martin cares about Wymondham and has served on both the Ashleigh and Robert Kett School PTA’s as Chairman and was also a Parent Governor of Wymondham High School. He was elected to Wymondham Town Council in 1998 and South Norfolk Council the following year. During his time on Wymondham Council he served two years as Deputy Mayor following which he was Mayor for three consecutive years. Throughout he has worked tirelessly for the residents of the town and has helped many people resolve their queries. He is currently Chairman of the town council Leisure & Environment Committee. Chairman of the Wymondham Joint Transport Working Group and serves on the cleaner,greener brighter Wymondham Group. At South Norfolk Council he serves on two planning committees, the Local Development Framework Group and the Crime and Disorder Partnership. He has been instrumental in developing and progressing the following projects: Ketts Park, the proposed Skateboard Park the BMX track, the proposed new library, the railway station area re-development and new car park, Chapel Lane allotments, the Market Cross refurbishment and the proposed doctors surgery in Friarscroft. If elected, Martin will work hard for all the residents of the Ward, irrespective of their normal political views. Please support Martin at the Polls on Thursday 3 May 2007.
