About Christopher

Christopher Kemp has represented Cringleford Ward on South Norfolk Council since 2003. He has lived in South Norfolk with his wife and their two sons since 1994. Christopher is a Solicitor and a part-time partner in a practice with offices in Loddon and Bungay.

He has been Chairman of South Norfolk’s Scrutiny Committee since 2003 and is also a member of the Standards and the Audit Committees.

A graduate of London University, since his retirement from full-time work Christopher has been engaged part-time on historical research at the University of East Anglia. He is a member of the Parochial Church Council for his home parish.

Christopher is an active member of several conservation and heritage bodies and is keen to see the District Council promote the preservation of our environment and the efficient delivery of affordable Council services to all residents.

About Garry

Garry Wheatley moved to Norfolk in 1967. He was a member of Norwich City Council for 13 years and Lord Mayor in 1987/8. His wife was a City Councillor and is currently a member of Little Melton Parish Council. They moved to Little Melton in 1991.

Garry represents Cringleford Ward on South Norfolk Council. He was elected in 2003 and he serves on various committees such as Main Planning, North West Area Planning, Scrutiny, Accounts, Audit and the Environment Committee.

He has an Honours Degree in History and Government and is a qualified Accountant. He was awarded the Territorial Decoration, retiring from the Royal Norfolk Regiment (TA) with the rank of Major.

Garry has been a governor at several schools and Chairman of Mill Hill View for 12 years. He is a Church Treasurer and Sidesman.

He has extensive business experience, including engineering, construction and agriculture and held directorships for 23 years.

Garry is therefore particularly keen on sound economic development, good financial control in local government and the protection and enhancement of the quality of life in South Norfolk.
