Steven's Biography

Aged 51 years, married with 4 children, he has lived in the area 12 years and now resides in Reymerston.

He was educated at Tilney All Saints Primary, Terrington St. Clements Secondary and King's Lynn County College. He is a qualified Advanced Care Manager, and is studying for the Registered Manager’s Award. He served for 7 years with the RAF as an Electronic Technician. He is joint proprietor with his wife, Lorraine, of Dorrington House Care Homes for the Elderly, established 1979.

Steven has been a member of Norfolk County Council for 12 years, representing Hingham since 2001. He is the Cabinet Support Member for Planning & Transportation and also Vice Chairman of Hingham School Governors.

As a parent with young children I am aware of the problems of the school run and the misery that congestion causes for all including local residents. To say it is the same everywhere is not good enough. I intend to address this problem encouraging before and after school activities, traffic calming, school travel plans and press the Government to introduce yellow buses.

I am pleased to see the Hingham Library open longer and increased in use. If I have not already met you canvassing I hope to do so before the Election; and if elected it is my intention to keep in touch to find out what you are thinking and what troubles you most.
