Tory Councils Cost You Less

Conservative councils cost you less and deliver better services

Safer

Conservative councils work to create safer environments. Conservative areas have lower levels of violent crime, muggings and car theft.

Cleaner

Conservative councils have the cleanest streets, with lower levels of litter, graffiti and fly-posting, according to analysis of Audit Commission research.

Greener

Of the top ten councils for recycling and composting in England, six are Conservative-controlled, none are Liberal Democrat or Labour controlled. Of the worst ten councils, five are Labour, one is Liberal Democrat, none is Conservative.

Cheaper

Conservative councils charge lower council taxes. In 2007-08, averaged across the different tiers of local government, Conservative councils charge £55 a year less on Band D council tax bills than Labour councils and £84 a year less than Liberal Democrat councils.
